Market Update – January 7, 2014 – How Will the Market do in 2014?

Tuesday, January 7, 2014 | Leave a comment

In 2013 the S&P 500 finished up more than 30%. Looking at 2014, many wonder what we have to look forward to?

Statistically, the odds for another great year are not good:

  • The US Stock Market has only went up 6 years in a row once in the last 100+ years
  • Valuations like PE10 are showing the market as overvalued (too high)
  • Technical indicators like RSI are showing the long term market strength to be the most overbought since the late 1990s

All that aside, it still doesn’t mean a crash is coming, especially anytime soon.

In today’s market update video I show the short and long term trends, give some thoughts on what we should be watching for, and make some (vague) predictions on what I see coming down the road. Enjoy, and feel welcome to use the comment feature below this post to share your thoughts on where you think the market is heading in 2014.

Best Wishes for your 2014,

Jason Wenk
